Mission Statement of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church

As Jesus gave the Great Commission to "go into all the world and preach the gospel," evangelism is the effective means through which people are led to act of acknowledging the power, fellowship, and actions of God in their lives; whereby they may be saved from their sins and live wholesomely by faith in Jesus Christ.

The African Methodist Episcopal Church came from a background of Methodist tradition centered upon Repentance, Justification, Holiness unto the Lord, and belief in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; all rooted in a tradition steeped in a rich heritage of musical expression and other cultural awareness. Known as the Freedom Church, Zion Methodism was founded by African Americans who revered personal freedom while emphasizing that the gospel be preached, and salvation be extended to all people.

As Jesus commissioned us to be Disciples and witnesses to all people, it is the ultimate goal of the A.M.E. Zion Church to Evangelize for new life, through Content, Commitment, Community, and Compassion.
